Lacie Marchand

Singer-songwriter Lacie Marchand was born and raised along the shores of Georgian Bay, where her deep connection to the natural world first took root. Drawing inspiration from forests, shorelines, and wildlife, she creates music for children that celebrates curiosity, stewardship, and the simple magic of being outdoors.

With a warm, engaging presence, Lacie performs at community markets, local events, conservation areas, and forest and nature schools, inviting families to sing, move, and explore together. “With a guitar in hand and a heart full of passion for the environment, Lacie weaves a tapestry of catchy tunes and heartwarming lyrics that celebrate the wonders of the natural world.” Her performances are thoughtfully crafted to spark imagination and foster a sense of belonging in nature.

She holds Bachelor of Musical Arts from Western University where she studied with Dr. Bobbi Thompson.  With a desire for higher education she completed a Masters in Musical Performance from the University of Calgary under the direction of Dr. Jeremy Brown.  As a saxophonist she has performed across Canada from coast to coast with various ensembles and as a solo artist. She has worked with a number of performance groups including large ensembles, duos and chamber groups. Within the city of Calgary she performed and toured with a number of ensembles including the Calgary Wind Symphony, Alberta Winds, the Calgary Jazz Orchestra, and was a featured soloist with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.
